A Call to the Miraculous I Corinthians 2:4-5
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (1Cor. 2:4-5).
When was the last time you saw a real healing miracle right before your eyes? This was the case as I preached at a church in Greensboro, North Carolina. I couldn’t help but notice a man by the name of Gene who hobbled in on crutches with his wife next to him. I couldn’t wait for the moment in the service for the healing power of God to touch His people. I preached a faith-building message from the Word of God concerning His healing power. The people’s faith grasped every word.
Then the moment came to lay hands on the sick. I began to lay hands on Gene’s leg brace and, as I did, a look of joy came on his face. With great excitement, Gene quickly began to loosen his leg brace with my help. By this time, every eye in the church was on Gene. He stood to his feet, unaided by his crutches, and began to stomp his feet on the ground. Next, he ran to the back of the church, and then to the front again, totally healed by the power of God. The entire church praised God for this great miracle of healing. Gene informed us that a 2000- pound paper bail had fallen on his leg at work and the doctor told him he would not be able to walk for three months. Thank God the doctor’s report was changed.
The church, without signs, wonders, and miracles, falls short of operating in her fullest potential in Christ. The apostle Paul, under the Holy Ghost’s inspiration, said, “… my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of man but in the power of God (1 Cor. 2:4, 5).
Miracles must be demonstrated so that the body of Christ can have a real, living faith that causes an impact against the powers of darkness. According to this Scripture, did you notice where God desires our faith to be? “… In the power of God…”
Today, too many of our church pulpits are overwhelmed with preaching man-made wisdom and enticing words. Most of the church's faith is in good preaching. Simply put, this kind of preaching tells people what they want to hear and not what they need to hear. No wonder there is a lack of changed lives. Year after year, thousands gather and pay to go to conferences all around the world to hear how they are going to be blessed. Disappointed, they return again to homes of poverty, lack, and sickness because their faith is in man's wisdom and not in God's power. The apostle Paul said, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Cor. 1:18).
Miracles in the church are not optional. The Lord's command applies to the church in every generation. (An excerpt taken from A Call to the Miraculous) This was the passion that drove me to write my first book, A Call to the Miraculous.

I encourage you to order your copy today. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Before publishing this book, I allowed a sick woman to read it. She testified to me the next day that at night, as she read this book, the power of God came over her and she was instantly healed. To God be the glory. I knew a minister who also was a lawyer and hungry for the power of God. I shared with him principles from the chapter called, “The Price for the Miraculous.” He applied the principles and, in a few months, as he ministered, he began to see people healed from many diseases. Whether you or someone you know needs a physical healing in your body, you need a miracle at home or at your job, or you want to see the power of God explode in your life or ministry, now is the time to get your copy of “A Call to the Miraculous.”
